Greenore to Greencastle Ferry
The Launch of the New Scenic Carlingford Ferry is planned for June 2017, which will transport foot passengers and up to 44 cars from Greenore (Co.Louth) to Greencastle (Co.Down). It will take just 15min to traverse one of the most beautiful stretches of water on the Island of Ireland. This will be a huge benefit to local tourism and will increase traffic on local roads.

Driver Theory Test ID requirement
From the 17th June, all customers attending the Driver Theory Test Centre for their theory test (or Driver CPC Case Study/ADI exam) must present a valid Public Services Card as proof of ID. Failure to produce the card at the test centre for a booked appointment will result in the applicant being unable to sit the test and losing the test fee. In the test centre, the only acceptable form of ID will be the Public Services Card.

St Patricks Day Parades
Please find road closer times in the local areas in Co.Louth for the St Patricks day Parades. Ardee - Ardee Parade will comence at 3pm from the Golf links road and make its way along the main street finishing at approximately 4:30pm. Cooley - Cooley are having there first ever St Patricks Day Parade this year 2018, Starting at 12:30pm March 17th from Murph's Petrol Station and make its way along the Dundalk to Carlingford Road finishing approx 1:30pm at Fr McEvoy Park the Cooley Kickhams Complex.

New address for Dundalk driving test centre:
New address for Dundalk driving test centre: With effect from 23rd September 2019 Dundalk Driving Test Centre is moving to a new location and the address will be as follows: - Newry Road, Dundalk, Co Louth (beside Aldi (A91 HD79) on the Newry Road). Please note that all driving tests will take place at this new address from Monday 23rd September, 2019. The RSA will continue to test from Na Piarsaig GAA Club, Blackrock Road, Dundalk, Co Louth until Friday 20th September, 2019. www.rsa.ie

Clanbrassil st and St Nicholas quarter rejuvenation project
Expect some traffic disruption in the area. Traffic diversions have been put in place and a One way system will operate in a North to South direction. Works starting January 2019 along Clanbrassil Street, Church Street and part of Bridge Street (to St Nicholas Church) and will involve the provision of wider granite footpaths, asphalt parking bays, planting and seating areas, and the upgrading of public lighting. The project is part funded by the European Regional Development fund and will cost in the region of €5m.

Northern Ireland or UK driving licence holders
Anyone living in Ireland holding a Northern Ireland or UK driving licence must exchange it for an Irish Licence before the 31st October deadline.
